SSC CGL

Combined graduate level (CGL) exam is conducted by staff selection commission  (SSC) for the recruitment of staff  under grade B & C (non-gazette) for different central government organization and institutions and ministries. It is one of the most prestigious exam in India which aspirants eagerly wait for. There are various posts students get place on after clearing SSC CGL :

At  the age front SSC has divided  5 age category :-

 (i)  20 -27                                 Born not early 2/8/1990, not later 1/8/1997

 (ii) 18 -27                                 Born not early 2/8/1990, not later 1/8/1999

(iii) 20 -30                                 Born not early 2/8/1987, not later 1/8/1997

(iv) up to 30                              Born not early 2/8/1990, not later 1/8/1999

(v)  up to 32                              Born not early 2/8/1990, not later 1/8/1999

As of 2017 SSC CGL will have 4 tiers :-

Tier-1              Prelims                                     (computer based MCQs)

Tier-2              Mains                                       (computer based MCQs)

Tier-3              Descriptive paper      

Tier-4              Computer proficiency test (CPT), if applicable

As of 2017 both pre and mains or tier-1 and tier-2  will be online which were previously paper based. along with that the time of tier-1 or pre will be 1 hour now. although tier-2 will remain as previous year. The interview has been abolished and instead of that is descriptive test which is paper based will be taken.

 Tier – 1 will have GK, Reasoning, Quant and English. 25 Questions in each section with no section cut off.

 Tier – 2 or mains will be two different test. One of quant with 100 questions and 2 hours. Second of English with 200 hundred questions for 2 hours.
